Traffic changes on I-185, SR-85 and SR-54

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Department of Transportation tells News Leader 9 a portion of Interstate-185 will be closed next week.  
 
Beginning 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd through Friday, November 6th, The DOT will close one lane in each direction on Interstate-185 between Exit 1 (Victory Drive) and Exit 3 (St. Mary's Road).

The DOT urges extreme caution and advised motorists to reduce speeds as they travel through the construction zones as work crews and equipment will be working in close proximity of open lanes.

Signs, barrels, and cones will be used to alert the driving public of upcoming changes.

HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The DOT will close the northbound lane of State Route 85 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily beginning Monday, November 2nd and continuing through Friday, November 6th.

The northbound lane closure will begin south of Ellerslie, GA near State Route 315 and continuing on to the Talbot County line.

The DOT urges drivers to use extreme caution.

MERIWETHER COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Beginning Monday, November 2nd and daily through Friday, November 6, expect single lane closures along northbound State Route 54 near the Meriwether County line.

Expect delays as crews work to resurface the roads.  A pilot car will be used to assist motorists traveling in the work zone.

The DOT urges drivers to use extreme caution.
