Columbus weekend crimes

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Officials in Columbus are busy trying to solve several weekend crimes...from shootings and hijackings to armed robberies, the crime beat was anything but quiet Sunday. Columbus police are still piecing together the facts in three separate incidents that happened over the weekend.

It all started around 2 am Sunday when shots were fired at a nightclub off Milgen Road.   According to police reports, 21 year old Tylan Long allegedly shot several times into the air at Prime Time Entertainment.   Long hit the club's bouncer, Damion Scott with his vehicle. Both men left in separate cars and they collided on Milgen Road. That's when Scott flagged police down to report the incident.   Long was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. 23 year old Williford Laramey was also arrested and charged in the incident.

Police also received a call to the 2900 block of Lee Street to assist victim Glenn Adams.   Adams, was hijacked by two men carrying assault rifles while trying to sell tennis shoes from his car.    The suspects reportedly hit him in the head with a beer bottle and made him empty his pockets before taking Adam's car. The suspects are described as three black men wearing long white t-shirts, short hair one had a gold tooth.

Then, around nine o'clock Sunday morning, an armed robbery took place at the Lucky Package Store located at 4475 Warm Springs Road in Columbus.   When witnesses asked for help from a nearby security guard, a shoot-out between the security guard and the suspects happened.   No one was hurt. The suspects got away with an undetermined amount of cash and hijacked the package store owner's car. They are described as two black men between 17 and 23 years old with handguns.  If you have any information about their whereabouts, call Columbus Police at 706-653-3400.
