Man shot at Columbus apartment complex

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus man is recovering tonight after a shooting at a local apartment complex.  

It happened at an apartment on Adair Avenue near 10th Avenue between 4 and 5 PM Wednesday.

According to Columbus Police,  a group of people were sitting inside one of the apartments talking when three black men walked in. Witnesses say they don't know why the men were there but say they came in the open door and an argument started.

Things escalated and when 27-year-old Gregory Owens was fighting with one of the intruders, he was shot in the buttocks.

He was taken to the Medical Center for treatment.

The suspects are all described as being in their late teen to early 20s.

Witnesses say one has gold teeth, is heavy set, and has medium complexion.

The second has a light complexion and possibly braids.

The third has a medium complexion.

The suspects got away.

No arrests have been made.
