AL to make another economic announcement

TROY, AL (WTVM) - On Friday, Governor Bob Riley and officials from Troy University will make a major announcement about a new economic development project Troy/Pike County, AL.

The announcement will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Ministry Activities Center of Southside Baptist Church, 522 South Brundidge Street in Troy.

The event will be celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony.  Troy University has provided a link for those wanting to watch the announcement live: http://www.troy.edu/intranet/event.html.

This will be the second economic development announcement to be made in the state this week.

We're told a company will be the first to bring new jobs to the state as a result of the 21st Century Economic Incentives Act approved this year during the 2009 session.

This new law makes it possible for developers to use state incentives to attract businesses, jobs and green industries.
