Give blood and receive a frightening good deal to Six Flags

Press Release

AUSTELL, GA - The U.S. government declared 14 counties as federal disaster areas due to the massive floods that ripped through the Atlanta area last week.  Now more than ever, the need to give a helping hand is critical.  Join Six Flags Over Georgia as it gives its guests an opportunity to help those in need on Thursday, October 1 from 1pm to 6 pm at the Main Gate during the Fright Fest Blood Drive.

The need for blood is constant and the American Red Cross is committed to continuing to provide blood and blood products to those in need at all times. Donors that participate in the Fright Fest Blood Drive will receive $20 OFF admission to Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®.

In 2008, participants in the first ever Fright Fest Blood Drive donated over 70 units of blood, enough to help over 150 people in need.  This year, the American Red Cross has challenged the park to double the units donated, in turn providing enough blood for 300 newborns, children and adults.

To encourage guests to participate in the drive, donors will be entered into a Fright Fest raffle where they can win exciting prizes, including Fright Fest admission and 2010 Six Flags Season Passes!  To participate, either show up on Thursday to the Main Gate or obtain a time slot by registering online at

Fright Fest will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 2 through November 1.  It's thrills by day and chills by night as Six Flags Over Georgia is transformed into an eerie playground for ghouls, ghosts and goblins.  Families and kids will enjoy fun activities throughout the day, including pumpkin painting and trick-or-treating, presented by Walgreens®.  But as the sun sets, strange creatures emerge from the shadows and the chills commence!

Don't forget!  Six Flags Over Georgia is now selling 2010 Season Passes for the low price of $49.99!  Guests who purchase a 2010 Season Pass will receive unlimited park admission not only in 2010, but also for the remainder of the 2009 season, including Fright Fest!  Purchase now at
