Clark Howard Visits Columbus, Offers Consumer Advice

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Nationally renowned consumer expert Clark Howard paid a visit to soliders at Fort Benning today.  Howard taped his radio and television show in front of a live audience at the National Infantry Museum Friday.

He took questions from soldiers and provided advice on a number of topics like stocks and student loans.

Howard himself is a member of the State Guard, so dressed in uniform, he talked financial savviness with soldiers.

"It drives me crazy how our young men and women who are showing such bravery, volunteering to fight for our freedom themselves, get ripped off," says Howard.

Howard says his mission is to arm soliders with proper information so they can make better financial decisions.

His biggest piece of advice though, "The key is to pay yourself first and that doesn't matter if you're military or civilian, same answer!"
