COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It was what family members feared the most, finding Jilani Platt, but not alive.

"We are trying our best to get through this horrific tragedy as best as we can through prayer, while staying together as a family," said Dr. Ralph Huling, the family's pastor.

Jilani's husband Zyderious, Platt was one of the family members who reported her missing on Sunday. He was later arrested for having a gun and being a convicted felon and now he's the main suspect charged with the murder of his wife.

"It's sad. I hate it had to happen," said a neighbor that lived next door to the Platt's.

"Any usual couple things. I heard them argue a couple of times. I'm sure they heard me and my wife too," added the neighbor.

"When I spoke to him, he didn't seem like the violent type of guy. He always had a smile," said another neighbor.
