COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police say on the streets, Kevin Riser, is known as "Little Dog." For the past few months, authorities have been trying to track him down. Riser was most recently wanted for a shooting that took place in August.

Police testified Tuesday, saying Riser tried to run over Corporal Paul Grubbs when police tried to arrest him Sunday evening outside the Super C Food Store on Buena Vista Road.

Riser pled not guilty and is being held on bond for more than $70,000.

Sherifa Wells also appeared in court with Riser.

Well's is the mother of the 17-month-old baby who was inside the car during the high speed chase police say Riser led them on.

She's being charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal, because police say Wells interviewed with detectives before this incident took place, and she knew Riser was wanted.

Investigators say Wells had gone inside the store when Riser took off in her green and orange Tahoe.

Both cases have been bound over to Superior Court.

Family members say the 17 month-old baby was not hurt and is with family.
