Crime Stoppers: Counterfeit money

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)  - Columbus Crime Stoppers and the Columbus Police Financial Crimes Unit are seeking information from the public regarding a crime that occurred a month ago at a department store.

Police say a man purchased several items from the K-Mart on Macon Road with five $100 counterfeit bills on September 18th, 2009.

The bills, we're told, were made out of altered $5 bills.

The suspect fled the scene going towards Boxwood Blvd.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6' tall, in his mid-20s and a low hair cut.

On the day of the crime, he was wearing all-black (shirt, hat, shorts, socks and shoes).
