COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Columbus firefighters find the body of a man after putting out a house fire.

Fire and EMS officials say the body of 51-year-old Alfred Henry was found in his home Wednesday morning at 2512 8th Street, not far off Lawyers lane.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 6:30 AM and once they got the flames out, Henry was found dead.

We're told he lived there by himself and there was no electricity to the house.

At this point, fire officials don't suspect foul play.

They are waiting on preliminary autopsy reports to determine a cause of death.

The Muscogee County Coroner says Henry's body will be sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy Thursday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
