COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Two Columbus men are behind bars after a shooting on the city's south side.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at an apartment complex on Ticknor Drive.

Police say 20-year-old Alvin Williams and 20-year-old Christopher Osborne got into a physical fight in the complex's parking lot.

As they were fighting, another man, 20-year-old Edward Molet pulled out a 9-millimeter pistol and fired up to eight shots at Williams.

According to investigators, the spray of bullets hit Williams twice in the buttocks and Molet ended up shooting himself once in the leg.

We're told Molet took off running to his home nearby on Eddy Drive and called police, reporting that he'd been struck by a bullet when someone driving by his house, firing shots. Police quickly realized he was connected to the shooting on Ticknor Drive after talking to witnesses.

Both he and Osborne have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Molet also faces charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, reckless conduct, and criminal damage.

Investigators tell News Leader 9, the men were arguing about an incident in the past between Williams and Molet.
