Farmer and Obleton name Executive VPs at CB&T

COLUMBUS, GA - The Board of Directors of Columbus Bank and Trust (CB&T), a Synovus affiliated bank, elected Timothy J. Farmer to Executive Vice President, Retail Lead, and Carolynn Obleton to Executive Vice President, Retail Branches. 

“I am pleased to have Tim and Carolynn taking on expanded leadership roles at Columbus Bank and Trust,” said Billy Blanchard, President and COO of CB&T.   “They share over 53 years of banking experience and have proven their abilities in many roles in the bank.  Both are talented and experienced leaders who will lead our team members as we continue to serve our customers and focus on future growth.”

Farmer is a 33-year veteran of CB&T, starting his career as a part-time teller.  He has served in various positions within Branch Baking, Audit and Bank Operations.   He was named Private Client Services Market Leader in 2004.  

Farmer is a 1981 graduate of Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and the Louisiana State University School of Banking.   His community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of Columbus Hospice, Valley Rescue Mission and is a lifetime member of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. 

Obleton joined CB&T in 1989 as a management associate.  She previously served in positions ranging from credit analyst to Private Client relations.   Obleton was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, Branch Banking Group in 2003. 

She is a graduate of Columbus Sate University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and is currently attending the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. 

Her community leadership includes serving as the Chairperson of the Junior Achievement Board of Directors, Trustee of the Columbus Museum, and a member of the Board of Directors of Girls, Inc.

 Also elected by the board to Senior Vice President positions were:

            Mike Corradino – Commercial Real Estate
            Mitchell Watkins – Business Banking
            Lee Sessions – Private Client Services
            Gary Hurley – Financial Services Group
            Bill Grayson and Eric Tikkanen – Regional Credit

    Saturday, Aug. 18 at approximately 3:45 a.m. Auburn Police responded to the 800 block of N. Donahue Dr. in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival officers located three individuals that had been injured in an apartment.  One female was suffering from a minor injury, a male suffered a life-threatening injury, another male was dead at the time of arrival.  All injuries were a result of the shooting.
