TALBOT COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -  One man is behind bars in Talbot County after authorities say he attacked another man inside the Talbotton city hall Friday.

34-year-old Devaughn Morton from Atlanta has been charged with aggravated assault by the Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say Morton was trying to rent a business in Talbotton but the request wasn’t approved.

When he was approached by another citizen, police say Morton jumped on him and pulled a knife on him.

Morton was taken into custody and no one was injured.

He is being held in the Talbot County Jail.

The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office has also busted two alleged burglars- one they say was caught red-handed and the other was already charged in connection with a local dog fighting ring.

Investigators tell News Leader 9, 48-year-old Tony Mathis and 32-year-old Antonio Monds tried to rob Halls Detail Shop in Box Springs yesterday.

According to police, Mathis was caught in the act and authorities are tracking down Monds who was charged in a recent dog fighting bust.
