Fort Benning Soldier Attacked

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - A Fort Benning soldier says he was beaten and robbed in Columbus.

It happened around midnight Tuesday at 1st Avenue and 5th Street.

The 25-year-old soldier tells officers two men attacked him while he was parked on the street and struck him in the face and leg with an unknown object before robbing him.

He was treated at the Medical Center for injuries to the left side of his head and left thigh.

The suspects are described as: a black man around 25 years old wearing a hoodie with a full beard and a white or Hispanic man with an unknown physical description.

The case is under investigation.
