Men Invade Home With Machetes

LEE COUNTY, AL (WXTX) – Monday, the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged 23-year-old Kyle Joseph Sheetz, of Salem, AL and  23-year-old John Arnold McCoy III, of Opelika, AL with two counts of robbery in the first degree and two counts of burglary in the first degree.

The men were taken to the Lee County Detention Facility -- held on a $210,000 bond.  McCoy has posted bond and has been released while Sheetz has not made bond.

Their charges stem from a home invasion last Thursday morning at a residence on Lee Road 768 in Salem, AL.

According to the homeowners, around 12:30 a.m. three masked men, armed with two machetes and one hatchets kicked in their front door. The alleged intruders demanded their valuables while ordering them to get on the floor.

One of the victims was tied with a rope, while the other victim was assaulted by the armed individuals.

Meanwhile, a suspect is still at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Lee County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest of 28-year-old Charles Henry George III, of Salem, Alabama. 

George is described as a white male with blue eyes, low cut light brown hair, approximately 5'5" inches tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds and multiple visible tattoos' on his neck and forearms.

He also goes by the names, “James Daniel Mckenzie”, “James McCluskie” and the nickname "Chucky."  If you have any information about the whereabouts of George please contact Lee County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-522-7847.
