Columbus man beaten for $14

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus man says he was attacked and robbed by three men while he was walking along a busy city street.

It happened Tuesday night on 2nd Avenue.

30-year-old James French tells police he walking to the Circle K gas station at 2nd Avenue and Manchester Expressway when three black men jumped on, beat him up, kicked him, and stole his wallet containing a total of $14.

The victim says the men started running down 3rd Avenue after the attack.

French walked to Saint Francis Hospital where he was treated for a possible broken hand and ribs.

Police reports indicate there are no witnesses or suspects, at this point.

The case is under investigation.
