LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) –  After an afternoon of deliberating, a Lee County jury finds a Lee County man guilty of capital murder.

Closing arguments wrapped up Friday morning. Barry Lee Jones is accused of killing his seven-month-old son Kevin, and beating his three-year-old step-daughter, Kayla.

The infant died and the three-year-old suffered serious injuries.

The defense rested its case Friday morning without Jones taking the stand. Jones indicated he wished to testify, but eventually changed his mind.

Prosecutors contend Jones sodomized his son, then used the baby as a weapon to strike the step-daughter.
