Racial slur painted on Phenix City woman's cars

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) –  A woman living on 7th Avenue in Phenix City found something unexpected while getting her kids ready for school. The letters KKK were spray painted on all her cars.

The racial slur was painted on her BMW, Ford Focus, Toyota Solaris and Nissan Quest.

She tell us, she hopes the person or persons responsible are brought to justice, "It's just frightening for someone to do this because it is right at the holidays, " said Mack.

Mack is working on getting rental cars for her family to drive to visit other relatives for the holidays.

The Phenix City Police Department is actively working the case.

Captain Frank Ivey says they are investigating this as criminal mischief, but it could be upgraded to a hate crime.

The person or persons responsible face a fine along with one to five years in prison.
