Auburn woman shot in the face

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – Auburn Police tells News Leader 9, a woman was shot in the face Sunday morning at her home in the 300th block of North College Street.

They say around 4:45 a.m., they found 20-year-old Stephanie Anderson in her bedroom suffering from gunshot wounds to the face.

Anderson was taken to the East Alabama Medical Center, then airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham.

We're told two men fled the scene and were arrested minutes later and a handgun that was believed to have been used in the shooting was found.

Police arrested 18-year-old Carl Martin and charged with him with assault in the 1st degree. The other suspect was questioned and later released. Martin was transported to the Lee County Detention Center where he awaits bond.
