COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A local photographer and his senior model are packing their bags and heading to San Diego after winning a national contest.

John and Sallye Anne Pyle and one of their senior models, Casey Googe, won the SPA Model Competition, giving the Pyles a chance to attend photography sessions and Casey will be a premier model at the event.

The group is excited to gain bragging rights and bring recognition to the area.

John Pyle told News Leader Nine, "This is the second year we've had a winner in the SPA contest. We had 12 amazing senior model reps that entered this year and Casey was selected so we're excited for her and we're excited to go to San Diego."

His wife, Sallye Anne Pyle added, "Just to finally be recognized and have one of our girls picked out of 500 other girls makes us really happy."

The event is January 2nd through the 7th in San Diego, California.
