COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus man called police Tuesday after finding what appeared to be leg bones in his front yard.
Walter Ison tells News Leader 9 he was pulling out of his driveway on Mustang Drive, not far off West Britt David Road, and saw what he thought was a stick lying in the grass near the side of his house.
When he got closer, he realized it wasn't a stick, it was bones. He thought they looked like the remains of a leg. Not knowing if they were from a human or animal, he called police.
Officers took the bones to the Medical Center where doctors could not rule out human bones.
The remains were taken to the Muscogee County Coroner's Office. Coroner Bill Thrower worked with the state crime lab and determined the remains are that of an animal, not human.
