Columbus mother robbed during home invasion

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus Police are investigating a home invasion after a mother and child were robbed at gunpoint.

According to reports, 34-year-old Yolanda Jones and her one-year-old baby were inside their home on Battle Court around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when two men came in through the back door.

Police say the men pointed a pistol at Jones and her infant and robbed them before taking off in a black Oldsmobile.

The victims were not injured.

The suspects are described as two black men between the ages of 17 and 20, about 5'6" to 5'8", and weighing 140 to 160 pounds.

The case is being investigated as a burglary, armed robbery and aggravated assault.
