QUITMAN COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - A Georgetown man is behind bars, charged in a brutal stabbing.
He had been on the run from police for a week after investigators say he tried to murder another man with a pocketknife.
Richard Cobb was arrested this morning during a routine traffic stop.
Officials say a Quitman County Sheriff's deputy pulled a car over and recognized Cobb as the passenger.
When he tried to run, he was captured and arrested.
Quitman County authorities say Cobb stabbed a 30 year old man several times in the arm and chest outside a Georgetown convenience store after the two got into a fight over a beer.
Cobb is being held without bond in the Miller County Jail, charged with aggravated assault.
