Shelter pets get another chance at happiness

COLUMBUS, Georgia (WTVM) -- PAWS Humane in Columbus will hold "Yappy Howlidays at PAWS Humane" Saturday, Dec. 12 from 12 p.m. -  4 p.m. at 4900 Milgen Rd. Columbus, GA 31907. The holiday event aims to give a shelter pet another chance at happiness.

"Bring the kids and your furry family members to PAWS Humane for a day filled with fun," said Stefani Buzzard, the Events Coordinator for PAWS Humane. "For a small donation, pets and people alike are invited to PAWS to pose for a holiday photo with Santa. Framed photos will be available, and there will be a crafts table for the kids to decorate frames, stockings, and cards for friends & relatives."

Snacks and hot cocoa will also be served; not to mention, there will be plenty of adoptable cats and dogs.

"These animals want nothing more than to find a Home for the Holidays," said Buzzard. "Bring a toy for an orphaned shelter pet."

The non-profit group has teamed up with Iam's Home for the Holidays campaign in the hopes of finding loving, lifelong homes for more than 1.5 million orphaned dogs, cats, and other pets through the participation of 3,000 organizations worldwide.
