Monday evening storm reports

SUMTER COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The National Weather Service reports, in Sumter County, GA  a tree fell on a house on Oglethorpe Street – trapping people inside.

No other reports of damage are known at this time, but there have been several reports of funnel clouds. News Leader 9 is working to confirm that information.

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Georgia Power tells News Leader 9 that there are power outages along Macon Road, Wynnton Road and Cherokee Avenue. As a result, traffic is being diverted to clearer roads.

QUITMAN COUNTY, GA (WTVM)- Eddie Ingram, Chief Deputy for the Quitman County Sheriff's Department says most of the areas roads are flooded.

He adds that vehicles are not able to pass through. Officials are asking residents to stay home or stay off the roads until some of the water recedes.

 LANETT, AL (WTVM) – A Lanett woman call News Leader 9 after she says water was gushing in her home falling rainfall.
