Man Accused of Shooting Nephews; killing one

CUTHBERT, GA (WXTX) –  Authorities in Cuthbert, GA and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are looking into a murder that occurred Saturday.

Police received calls of shots fired at the corner of East Street and Lands Alley around Noon.

When EMS crews arrived, they found 20-year-old Cantrell Jenkins and his brother 22-year-old James Jenkins suffering from gunshot wounds.
Cantrell was shot in the upper chest and lower stomach, while James Jenkins was shot twice in the stomach area.

Cantrell was pronounced dead on the scene and his brother James was transported to Southwest Georgia Regional Hospital, and later taken to The Medical Center in Columbus.

We're told he is currently listed in satisfactory condition.

It's believed the men were shot by their uncle – Howard Daniel. He was charged with murder and aggravated assault.

He was denied bond in a hearing that occurred Monday morning.
