Seale, AL resident wins $1 million in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA - College student Casandra Dixon has won a merry $1 million prize playing the Georgia Lottery's World Class Millions instant game.

"I'm going to make sure everybody has a good Christmas," she exclaimed. CITGO Food Store #0201, 2362 S. Lumpkin Road in Columbus, sold the winning ticket. The 32-year-old scratched half of the ticket in the store and the other half at home.

"I was like, 'Wow,' " she said. "It was shocking." Dixon, a resident of Seale, Ala., is studying to become a dental hygienist at Columbus Technical College. A mother of four with husband, Rodney, Dixon plans to spread good cheer in her household.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
