COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Police responded to a shooting Sunday evening around 5 o'clock at 1515 ½ 12th street. When they arrived they found Laura Malkinski, who told police her son, 24-year-old Christopher Hino, had threatened to kill her after a verbal fight.

According to police reports, Malkinksi said her son borrowed her car all day and when he came to return it she could tell he was under the influence of a controlled substance. Hino became aggravated and stated "I'll put a bullet in your head!"

Hino had a friend with him, 25-year-old Jock Rotach, who told him to go inside and calm down. Hino then returned to the front porch with a black revolver and threatened to shoot his mother, while pointing the gun at her. Rotach tried to grab the revolver from Hino and was shot through the left hand. Police reports show both Hino and Rotach then left the house in a bronze sedan.

Nearly an hour later Rotach checked in to St. Francis Hospital seeking treatment for his gunshot wound. He told police Hino claimed he threw the gun into a dumpster behind a restaurant, but police have not found it.

Columbus Police are asking for your help in finding Christopher Hino. He is a 24 year old white male, brown hair, brown eyes, multiple tattoos of nude women on his chest and other tattoos on his arms. He lives at 1515 ½ 12th street in Columbus.
