COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus couple was robbed in their daughter's driveway after returning home from Christmas shopping Monday afternoon.

Seventy-six-year-old June Shoops and her husband saw an unusual car in their daughter's driveway, which pulled away as they parked around 4:15 p.m.

As the two were unloading bags from their trunk a black man wearing a ski mask grabbed Shoops, pointed a black gun in her face and demanded money. He then punched her in the chest and snatched her purse.

The couple told Columbus Police the man got into the passenger side door of a dark blue Buick Regal. They say the driver appeared to be a black woman.

The robber got away with all the contents of Shoops' purse, including $1,000 in cash. If you have any information you are asked to call Columbus Police at (706) 653-3400.
