Alabama Farmers Get Some Help

Columbus, GA (WTVM)- Some good news for Alabama farmers.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has declared a disaster designation for 66 of Alabama's 67 counties.  Farmers that lost crops because of heavy rains and flooding will receive funding.  Coosa County is the only county not covered.  But, officials say farmers in Coosa will be eligible for assistance because it is adjacent to counties that are receiving help.

Congressman Bobby Bright of Montgomery praised federal agriculture officials for acting quickly on the disaster declaration.
