Car leaves road striking vehicles, killing 1

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus Police are trying to determine the cause of a multi-car accident.

Police say around 2:30 p.m. Monday, a car traveling southbound on the 4500th block of Armour Road lost control – striking four cars in the parking lot of The Book House.

Inside the car was a man, 69-year-old James Greimmette, and three passengers in the back. 
Greimmette was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m.

Witnesses tell News Leader 9 the passengers in the back were children. One of the cars that was struck had two passengers inside.

We're told a total of five people were injured. All were taken to the Medical Center for treatment.
