LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - School and community officials are celebrating the phase three expansion of LaGrange High School.
The school hosted an open house to show off the new wing on Sunday.
The addition was funded by a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST.
The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony, where school officials like Troup County Board of Education Chairman Dave Nichols shared their excitement about the expansion.
"The community has honored itself by caring enough about its students to commit to the SPLOST program and to building like this one," Nichols said.
The new wing includes more science classrooms with modern laboratory facilities, fine arts facilities, and computer labs.
The school also expanded its cafeteria.
