Columbus High receives Platinum Award for student achievement

Columbus, GAColumbus High School has earned a platinum award for outstanding student achievement in the 2009 Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) awards from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement.

Schools must meet 3 criteria to earn the platinum award:

1. Make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for 3 consecutive years;

2. Demonstrate that at least 35% of students exceed standards in all test areas as measured by state assessments.

3. Demonstrate that at least 98% of students meet or exceed standards as measured by state assessments.

Columbus High School is one of only 16 high schools in the state of Georgia to receive this award for the 2008-09 school year.
