18 Year Old Killed at West Point Convenience Store

WEST POINT, GA (WXTX) – Investigators are looking for answers in the shooting death of 18-year-old Terry Thomas of Lanett, AL.

Tuesday night around 6:20 p.m., Thomas was sitting in the front passenger seat, while the car was parked in front of the Sunlit Convenience store in West Point.

Investigators say the teens friend, 21-year old Lemarcus Wright was sitting in the back.

Wright told police he was trying to unload a gun, when the firearm discharged.

Thomas was taken to the Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, AL where he was later pronounced dead.

 Wright has been charged with manslaughter in the case.
