COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  It's quiet now in the Booker T. Washington Apartment Complex on Veterans Parkway in Columbus.  Last night, it was quite a different scene.  People were running for cover from gunfire.  LaShonda Hood says she called 911.

"I just heard gunshots, 5 gunshots went off, then when I had took my kids upstairs, I heard more gunshots and me and my cousin we got on the ground," says Hood.

All the action was coming from across the street at apartment 500F. According to police, three unknown black males one of which was armed with a shotgun, forced their way into Ashley Porter's home.  Her boyfriend, Kevin Sanders, was robbed and beaten in the face. He was also arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Sanders' brother did want to go on camera, but says shortly after the robbery, Kevin came next door to tell him what happened…he says they took their money, furniture and kids toys. They saw the suspects with the furniture in hand heading down 5th street; moments later he says they opened fire.

An innocent bystander was on Hood's porch. You could still see the blood spatter near her front door.  He is identified as 18 year old Lachion Caston, according to police.   The suspects are described as three black males in their 20s. If you know anything about their whereabouts, call police at 706-653-3400.
