COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus man surrenders himself Thursday after police say he stabbed another man.

Twenty-seven-year-old Eugene Long faces aggravated assault charges after the alleged attack over the weekend.

The victim, 36-year-old Kenneth Ellis, tells officers he made an obscene comment about one of Long's family members at a cookout on Fortson Road.

A brawl started between the two and the victim says that's when Long grabbed a knife and slashed him multiple times in the right hand, shoulder, forearm and eyebrow.

Long is currently being held in the Muscogee County Jail.
