HAMILTON, GA- The January Horse Trials are the 23rd -24th. It will be a small show – roughly 60 entries. They will start with 2 dressage rings on Saturday; Show Jumping Saturday afternoon; and XC on Sunday. For dressage, there is already 1 scribe, so there is need for 1 more scribe, and a ring steward, warm-up steward and bit check steward. With 2 rings, dressage shouldn't be much more than 5-6 hours. Show Jumping will most likely start mid-day and last approximately 3 hours – there is need for a ring steward, warm-up steward and jump crew for show jumping. On Sunday, XC will most likely start around 9 and we should be done by early afternoon. Please reply to this email if you can help on either day.
The next event is February 6-7 horse trials. It will also have dressage and show jumping on Saturday, and XC on Sunday. It's too early to tell much about the schedule, although this is typically not a large show – but definitely not too early to think about volunteering! Also in February, there will be a Schooling Show on Feb. 20th.
If you have time to help with any of the January/February events, please reply to this email! If you have the time, but don't know the details of some of the jobs, just email Diana Lewis and she will find the right place for you. If you have a specific job request or scheduling considerations just let her know and she will work with you. If you are a first time volunteer you will be placed with other volunteers to learn the ropes. In other words, whatever the consideration – we can make it work! You will receive a coupon for your time that is good for most any of the services provided at Poplar Place Farm such as entries, xc schooling, Poplar Place t-shirts, etc. A full day coupon is now good for an XC Schooling (a $50 value). For more details contact Diana Lewis.
These events can't happen without your support. If you are attending the event as a competitor, parent, etc. and have an few hours to spare, please volunteer. They will gladly schedule around your rider times.
Please contact Diana Lewis if you have questions.
