COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – There are new details in a weapons bust police made Thursday morning at a Columbus hotel.

Police say 17-year-old Drevon Johnson, 20-year-old Jamel Johnson, 20-year-old Jamar Word and 18-year-old Tyrecquiss Wells are charged with two counts of burglary.  All the suspects pled not guilty in Recorder's Court Friday morning and are being held on $50,000 bond.

Thursday, police followed two of the suspects to their hotel room at the Best Western on Macon Road when they tried to run during a routine traffic stop on near Rigdon Road.

When police searched the room, they found nine people including three juveniles inside. Officers recovered three stolen cars and confiscated 17 guns – ranging from a 357 magnum to 9-millmeters.

The owners of a Chevy Tahoe and Mercedes were called to retrieve their vehicles at the scene.

Lieutenant Steve Cox says other charges are pending.
