COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Edward Dubose began his third term as President of the Georgia State Conference NAACP.

An inauguration ceremony was held for him this afternoon.

It took place at Peaceful Holiness Church on Buena Vista Road.

Dubose was re-elected in a landslide victory last October.

The President of the Columbus chapter of the NAACP reacted to the local ties Dubose has maintained in Columbus.

"It's just exciting for the city of Columbus and the Columbus branch is excited to not only have a local president that's a state president but is also a national board member so we're just excited about what he has done and has continued to do in the NAACP," Hunter said.

Dubose is a long-time Columbus resident and is the only Georgia NAACP President to ever serve on the national board.
