Man accused of pulling gun on officer pleads not guilty

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) -- The man Columbus police say pulled a gun on a police officer while being handcuffed Sunday pled not guilty in Recorder's Court Monday.

Chandler Q. Saxton, 31, faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.

According to police reports, Saxton cursed and pointed a .380-caliber pistol at Officer Nathan Tooley.

Saxton's bond has been set at more than $16,000.
