Columbus brothers reach plea agreement in murders

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) -- Two Columbus brothers reach a plea agreement in the deaths of two men.

Dezmond Cannon, 18, and Xavier Cannon, 24, were accused in the shooting deaths of Ronald Coleman and Jarvis Sanks in December of 2008.

Dezmond Cannon was sentenced to 45 years with 27 to serve on charges ranging from murder and armed robbery to aggravated assault.

Xavier Cannon was sentenced to five years with one to serve for giving his brother the murder weapon.

And his attorney asked that his client be released for time already served.

A third man, Rodney Pugh, is also accused in the murder. He maintains his innocence and is headed to trial in February.
