Suspect in abduction & sexual assault faces more charges

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – News Leader 9 has learned 22-year-old Marcus Wade, the suspect in recent the recent abduction and sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl and another violent kidnapping in the city, is facing additional charges.

Investigators say Wade kidnapped and tried to rape a student at East Columbus Magnet Academy on January 6th as she was walking to school. According to police,  he is also responsible for kidnapping grandmother and her grandson the next day, trying to get the woman to get cash of an ATM at gunpoint.

Officials in the Columbus Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit say Wade has now been charged with public indecency and sexual battery charges -- stemming from four other cases.

We're told the Columbus man exposed himself to four women and touched one of the victims.

Wade is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon on his new charges.

He is being held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail.
