COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Two local men have been indicted in the death of an elderly Columbus man.
Twenty-year-old Patrick Satterfield and twenty-four-year-old Christopher Young face a slew of charges including murder, felony murder, burglary and armed robbery, all stemming from the December 2008 shooting death of 78-year-old Richard Boynton Jr.
Police say the duo went to the victim's home to steal, calling the murder a "burglary gone wrong."
Boynton was found shot in the chest in his home on Burnside Drive and in preliminary court proceedings, investigators testified Christopher Young fired the fatal shot.
Both men are being held in the Muscogee County Jail without bond.
