Woman accused of attempting to solicit murder from jail

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) – Forty-two-year-old Marsha Kay Hardy was arrested by Opelika police on Feb. 2nd for criminal solicitation to commit murder.

Investigators say in this case Hardy was attempting to have the two people she believes to be responsible for her current incarceration, murdered.

Hardy was already being detained at Lee County Detention Facility awaiting trial on drug charges when police say she tried to arrange to have these two people murdered.

The case remains under investigation by the Opelika Police Department.
