Columbus Police hires 95 new officers

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Residents of Columbus should see more blue and white on the streets and in their neighborhoods.

Mayor Jim Wetherington says the Columbus Police Department has hired 95 out of 100 new officers.

We're told 60 of those hired are already patrolling the streets. The rest are in various stages of training.
