State audits Muscogee County School District

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Results are in from a state-wide audit conducted by Governor Sonny Perdue's Office of Student Achievement.

According to Executive Director Kathleen Mathers, Muscogee County's 2009 CRCT data was "Overwhelmingly good... [and] did not stand out as a system in the State where there are major problems."

Forty-seven schools were reviewed by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) and placed into the following categories: Completely Cleared, Minimal Concern, Moderate Concern and Severe Concern.

30 schools have been cleared by the audit but 17 schools have been flagged for increased attention to their standardized testing procedures; 2 schools fall into the "severe concern" category. Here is the general breakdown for Muscogee County, as issued by the school district:
