PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Russell County's Sheriff Tommy Boswell receives a big honor from the state of Alabama. He has been named president of the Alabama State Criminal Justice Commission, a commission that basically governs the law enforcement computer system in Alabama.

Boswell has served on the commission for nearly ten years now and tells News Leader Nine, "It's an honor. I represent the sheriffs in Alabama on that commission and the fact that my peers elected me president of that commission, it makes you feel good, it really does."

This is not the first time Sheriff Boswell has been elected to president, but he says that doesn't make the honor any less special to him.
