COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) –  A Columbus couple faces drug charges after police stumbled across a meth lab at their home.

Thirty-four-year-old Jacqueline Kotto and 41-year-old Todd Barefield are both charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

When members of the Muscogee County Marshall's Department went to evict the couple from their home yesterday on Morningside Drive, officers say they found what they thought were the components of a meth lab in a back shed on the couple's property.

Agents with the Metro Narcotics Unit were called to the scene and according to police reports, they removed a bag filled with items used to make the drug, including several bottles of liquid.

Kotto and Barefield were arrested at the scene and booked into the Muscogee County Jail.
