COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - When people hear the word "snow" in the forecast, they usually get really excited or they overreact.
It seems to be a rarity to see much snow accumulation around the valley, so when residents hear that flurries may be on the way, they get excited.
Amanda Dunlap told News Leader Nine, "I'm happy about it! I like when it snows. It's supposed to snow and if it does we're going to build a snowman and play in it and have fun."
"It doesn't happen here so when it does I take advantage of it," said Kayla Scarbrough. She, along with others in the area, are doubting the snow forecast, "I don't know if it's a rain and snow mix, but we'll see if it actually happens."
Justin Wetherington is also doubting the flurries, "It's not clearly cold enough conditions for it, I don't think. I think it's crazy. I don't think it's going to snow. The way people are over-reacting. I just don't think it's going to happen."
But some Columbus residents are making plans for a fun snow day.
"My grandma told me it was going to snow tomorrow and she told me to stay in the house and we're going to keep warm. I might go outside and play," explained Marquents Ingersoll.
Dunlap says her and her daughter are planning to, "Bundle up, keep warm and have a lot of soup."
And although he doesn't think snow will come this way, Wetherington might take advantage if it does, "I'll get out there and mess around and go and have fun."
So whether you're bundling up or pulling out the sleds, find a way to prepare for the possible snow.
