COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A shattered leg bone- that is what one Columbus man is being treated for after police say he was shot on the front porch of a home on the city's south side.

Forty-three-year-old Randolph Striblen tells police 2 men tried to rob him Thursday at his sister's house on Sheridan Avenue, near the intersection of Fort Benning Road and Cusseta Road.

During the scuffle, Striblen was shot in the leg, shattering his femur.

The suspects drove off in a gray Suburban and now, police are working to track them down.

Investigators say the suspects were traveling with three other men who were at the scene and walked away after the shooting.

It is not clear if Striblen knew the men in the group.

The case is under investigation.
